Daniel Scherson, Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Yeager Center for Electrochemical Sciences (YCES), accepted a Leadership Circle Award from the Electrochemical Society on May 8, 2007.

"The Electrochemical Society (ECS) established the Leadership Circle Award during our centennial year in 2001 to recognize long time corporate members of the Society. In 1941 ECS started the corporate membership program in response to requests by the presidents of Olin and Dow Chemical for an annual corporate donation program. Today, over 75 companies support ECS through this program. Leadership Circle Awards are given out to members who have sponsored the organization for five (Bronze), 10 (Silver), 25 (Gold), and 50 years (Platinum). Dr. Dan Scherson accepted the Yeager Center's Silver Leadership Circle Award during the 211th ECS meeting in Chicago on May 8, 2007. The Yeager Center and Case Western University are two of the most active institutions with the Society, housing not only a corporate members, but also one of ECS' most active student chapters."
